A Hero's Blog Hop

From the Heartbreakers to the Dreammakers...What makes some heroes so memorable? Looks aren't everything, not by a longshot. In fact, looks are almost negligible when faced against charisma. Don't get me wrong, I love eye candy ;) but the heroes that are most memorable for me are those whose strength of character speaks volumes.

My favorite type of hero is the tortured warrior who has been scarred either emotionally or physically but is still capable of love and devotion that simply takes your breath away. Which is why I simply love Jackson in Water of Life. He's the type that puts duty before self and when faced with the impossible, such as the love of an opinionated doctor with a backbone of steel, he faces it head on and a whole new world opens up for him. Some of my favorite tortured heroes include: BDB's Z  and Loretta Chase's, Dain from Lord of Scoundrels. Which brings me to my giveaway question:

What's your favorite hero type?
Boy next door, tortured hero, billionaire tycoon or someone completely different?

Giveaway*: One winner gets an e-copy of Water of Life.
*Open international. If there's enough international comments, I'll give a second copy of Water of Life to an international entrant, so let me know if you're (INT).

  1. Hi Rhys! Love this website. Welcome to our hero blog (check me out too). I agree a hero doesn't have to be super handsome, and I agree that duty and honor should take precedence, but I also like him to have a sense of humor--about himself and life. M. S.

  20. It's hard to pick my favorite hero because it really depends on what I'm in the mood for at any given time. I do like the dominate, alpha type male, sometimes aggressive (not abusive or cruel), Have some smarts, and respectful. Someone who goes after what he wants. Sometimes I like them to be a bit tortured, or have their own demons, afraid to admit to loving someone. He MUST have a sense of humor.
Thanks for the giveaway and for being a part of the blog hop.
